MADURAI: The Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai Prof.J.Kumar is shifting his personal belongings from the VC Bungalow in varsity campus here to Chennai tomorrow- on May 2nd 2024- as a first step of his vacating the Vice-Chancellor residence permanently in MKU campus, according to reliable sources.
This move assumes significance as there is a speculation that the MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Kumar has already indicated to senior officers of the university that he wants to get relieved as VC and move to Chennai immediately for personal reasons.
Today evening (on May 1st 2024), the university staff had made the required arrangements for shifting the VC bungalow materials – in a few boxes- in the first load of luggage from here to Chennai. The luggage and boxes have been packed today for shifting and vans arranged for the purpose.
Sources told ‘Lotus Times’ English news website that the Vice-Chancellor had informed the staff that he is vacating the bungalow fully on May 13th evening, and this had added to the speculation that the VC is gong to resign in a few days after taking the approval from Tamil Nadu State government higher education top officials very soon.
There are strong rumours that the Vice-Chancellor is going to the State of Chattisgarh in a very important position in higher education.
