MADURAI: “Securing 18th rank at national level by Thiagarajar College in Madurai is not an ordinary achievement and its going up in the ranking list shows that this college is on a remarkable growth trajectory,” former Vice President of India Mr.M.Venkaiah Naidu has said here today.
Speaking at the platinum jubilee celebrations of Thiagarajar College at Teppakulam in Madurai on April 7th 2024, he said that this college is showing the transformation impact of education and living up to the mission of its founder Karumuttu Thiagarajan who was an institution builder and established the college for a cause 75 years ago.
“This college is for a public cause…..there is no commercial aspect here. The 18th rank achieved by Thiagarajar College in the national level ranking (of NIRF) is a testimony to that. Share and care is the core of Indian philosophy and that is why India is respected for our culture and the way we live,” Mr.Venkaiah Naidu has said .
Mr.Ranjit Prathap, Chairman and Managing Director of Rayala Corporation, has commended the founder’s family for maintaining the same zeal, enthusiasm and their strength for taking the institution to greater heights and efforts for education.
I ADMIRE KARUMUTTU T KANNAN:
“Karumuttu T Kannan is a visionary, three generations of this family have worked for Thiagarajar College. It is churning out the best talent and have a great alumni. I admire late Karumuttu T Kannan for his genetleman behaviour, he was humble to the core, down to earth, very erudite and was my elder statesman. We had a special connect. The loss of Karumuttu T Kannan is so shocked, when the event happened a year ago it came as a huge blow, Kannan is a wonderful soul,” Mr.Ranjit Prathap has said while sharing his long association with the Thiagarajar College founder’s family.
Dr.Uma Kannan, president, Thiagarajar College, Mr.K.Hari Thiagarajan and college Principal Dr.D.Pandiaraja were among those present at the platinum jubilee celebrations here today along with a large number of alumni, retired faculty and students.
