MADURAI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is conducting an intensified public awareness campaign to ensure 100 per cent voting in the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu taking place on April 19th 2024.
One such program was conducted in Madurai yesterday in which students of American College here took out a rally urging the people to exercise their franchise without fail on the voting day.
On March 25th 2024, Additional Collector Ms.Monika Rana IAS had flagged off the students’ rally at American College campus and took pictures at the photo point where a message was highlighted saying that elections is the biggest festival and pride of the nation.
Students carried placards about ‘SVEEP’ (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation) for 100 per cent voter turnout in polling booths and also conveying an important point that ‘My Vote Not For Sale’.
Dr.M.Davamani Christober, Principal and Correspondent of The American College, and staff had attended this awareness event along with students.
