MADURAI: The 71st College Day celebration of Fatima College in Madurai took place on March 23rd 2024 with an exhorting message to the students to know the power of gratitude and determination.
Dr.Sr.Lilly Thockanattu, Provincial, St.Joseph Province, India, was the chief guest while Padma Shri Awardee Dr.G.Natchiar, founder and Director Emeritus, Aravind Eye Care System-Madurai, was the guest of honour.
The chief guest had emphasized the importance of gratitude and power of determination among the students, according to a press release received from the college today. She exhorted the students to be honest, sincere and optimistic in life.
Dr.G.Natchiar, who is an alumna of Fatima College, had expressed her gratitude to three most influential role models who moulded her career and personality- Sister Mother Rose, founder of Fatima College, Ms.Sakunthala, the first Principal of Fatima College and Sr.Yvonne Mary of the Congregation of Sisters of St.Joseph of Lyon, the press release said.
Dr.Sr.G.Celine Sahaya Mary, college Principal, had presented the college’s annual report for academic year 2023-24.
Dr.Mrs.J.Asnet Mary, assistant professor, Department of Zoology, had welcomed the gathering while Dr.G.Priya, assistant professor,The Research Center of English, had proposed a vote of thanks.
