MADURAI: Two important issues were raised in the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Academic Council meeting held in the university campus here on March 13th 2024.

The two issues are about why the university is delaying in giving its nod for qualification approval to the recruited staff in its affiliated colleges and why a lot of time is being taken for answer paper valuation in MKU to clear the semester examination results.

Academic Council members Dr.P.Ponramu from Melur Government college and Dr.G.Prabakaran from Thiagarajar College have voiced concern that the examination results are getting delayed from MKU and that university is not giving fast qualification approval for teaching staff appointments made in the varsity aided affiliated colleges.

Dr.Ponramu and Dr.Prabakaran today urged the university authorities to issue qualification genuineness certificate to the appointed faculty in colleges without any delay.

Responding to their appeal, the MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.J.Kumar has said that the constraints of university should be understood by the Academic Council members because there are only limited subject experts available.

“The issues raised by the members are important to all of us. There are difficulties in getting college faculty for paper valuation in our university. Digital valuation was mooted by the university, but somehow there are objections coming for that. We will try to find a solution to the two issues. We will write to the college Principals also to give one week leave so that their faculty can come to the university for answer paper valuation,” MKU Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.J.Kumar has said at the Academic Council meeting here on March 13th 2024.

MKU Syndicate Member Dr.M.Davamani Christober had replied that the university should release qualification approval to candidates recruited prior to March 10th 2023 and also that all UGC regulations must be implemented.
