MKU Joint Action Committee meets Minister for salary and pension

MADURAI: Members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Madurai Kamaraj University comprising teaching faculty and administrative staff of the varsity had met Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister Mr.R.S.Rajakannappan at his residence in Madurai today-February 24th 2024.

Representatives of the Administrative Staff Association (ASA), MKU Faculty Association (MUFA) and MKU Pensioners Association had submitted a representation to the Higher Education Minister urging him to take steps for disbursing their salary and pension of last two months.

Teaching and non-teaching staff of MKU have been staging a protest in the university campus here for the last eight days demanding that the State government must release quickly the fund required for paying the salary, pension and family pension.

“We could not fully explain the situation in today’s meeting, but gave our representation for immediate disbursement of salary to us. He said he will look into the matter,” an association office-bearer has said after meeting the Minister.
