MKU REGISTRAR APPEALS TO STAFF TO COME BACK TO WORK; SENDS CIRCULAR ON SALARY AND PENSION ISSUE

MADURAI: The Registrar in-charge of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Prof.Dr.M.Ramakrishnan has today sent a circular to teaching and non-teaching staff of the university appealing to them to come back to work, and informed them that the university is taking all steps to disburse soon the pending salary and pension.

On February 16th 2024, the Registrar sent an official letter to the protesting staff and pensioners saying that the last two months salary, pension and family pension will be paid and all efforts are being made to get the required fund.

“Due to the precarious financial position of our university, the salary could not be disbursed till now for the months of December and January to teaching staff, administrative staff and pensioners. The MKU administration and authorities are taking all efforts and required steps to pay the salary and pension soon. I am asking the teaching faculty and office staff of MKU to give up their sit in protest and pen down protest, and resume your work based on this assurance,” the university Registrar in-charge Prof.Dr.M.Ramakrishnan has said in his circular to the varsity staff today.
