MADURAI: The coming Lok Sabha election campaign in Tamil Nadu is going to be a very high pitched battle as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to take on the ruling DMK on three fronts during the poll campaign by putting certain facts and figures before the voters.
That the BJP is set for an aggressive attacking mode was clear from a press conference addressed by former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mr.Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madurai today-on January 24th 2024. He was in Madurai to inaugurate the party’s Parliamentary constituency election office which was attended by party functionaries and cadres.
The three main issues are- DMK government’s corruption (DMK FILES), Prime Minister Modi government’s commitment to Tamil Nadu and Tamil culture, and Udhayanidhi Stalin’s unsavoury remarks about ‘Sanathana Dharma’.
“The Central government headed by the BJP gave Rs.2,47,000 crores to Tamil Nadu in the last nine years under devolution of funds to States whereas the earlier UPA government gave only Rs.95,000 crores to Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi is going all out to be on the side of Tamil Nadu people, giving grant in aid for various projects. Our Sanatan Dharma means all are equal…..sarve jana sukhino bhavanthu. But DMK and Udhayanidhi Stalin are making bad comments. So, what is the reply of Congress Party and Rahul Gandhi. I am asking from Madurai today,” senior BJP leader Mr.Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said the press meet here.
He alleged that the DMK government is mired in corruption in liquor, sand etc and it is the most corrupt government in the country. The former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh had also stressed that it is Mr.Modi who is showing special personal interest for highlighting Tamil culture and Tamil language at various national and international bodies, from Parliament to the United Nations.
Several party office-bearers and leaders including Mrs.A.R.Mahalakshmi and Madurai BJP president Mr.Maha Suseendhran were among those present at the inauguration of BJP parliamentary constituency election office here today.
