MADURAI: The general secretary of MUTA Dr.M.Nagarajan from Tamil Nadu has been unanimously elected as new president of higher education national level body- AIFUCTO (All India Federation of University and College Teachers Organisations), at the national conference held in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh in the last two days, the election result announced today.
Office-bearers for various positions of AIFUCTO 2024 got elected in this conference and from Tamil Nadu the MUTA president M.Nagarajan got elected as the president of AIFUCTO. In this national conference, Mr.Arun Kumar was elected as general secretary again. Mr.D.Kumar got elected as treasurer of AIFUCTO in this conference for which notification was issued on January 20th 2024 and the election results got officially declared today.
“The higher education is at crossroads in India now. We need to protect higher education from corporate domination. We need public funding and easy access for higher education to common man. Our efforts will be in that direction,” Dr.M.Nagarajan has said speaking to ‘Lotus Times’ over phone from Kanpur on January 21st 2024. He is presently MUTA general secretary and associate professor in V.O.C.College in Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu.
AIFUCTO OFFICE-BEARERS 2024:
According to information received from the association today, the six national secretaries got elected are: Vivek Dwivedi, V.Ravi, M.Lokendro Singh, Biju Kumar K, Bankim Chandra Mandal and Binayak Bhattacharya and for female post it will be Sunetra Mitra.
The vice-presidents of AIFUCTO are: Moj Pal Singh, P.David Livingstone, Vinay Sophat, Narender Singh, Ashok Kumar Singh, J.Ratna Prabhakar, Chandrashekhar Kulkarni, J.Gandhiraj, Souvik Bagchi, Vijay Kumar Piyush and Manas Behera while the female vice-president who got elected is Ms.Banita Kumari Saklani, a press release received from AIFUCTO Conference 2024 has informed today.
