MADURAI: For the famous Avaniyapuram jallikattu in Madurai taking place on January 15th 2024, tokens are being issued for 1,000 bulls and 600 bull-tamers, Madurai District Collector M.S.Sangeetha has informed the media today afternoon.
All arrangements have been made by the authorities and district administration for smooth conduct of Avaniapuram jallikattu tomorrow.
Today morning, Minister for Commercial Races and Registration P.Moorthy had made a spot inspection at Avaniapuram here along with Madurai District Collector M.S.Sangeetha, Corporation Mayor Indrani Ponvasanth, Madurai Corporation Commissioner L.Madhubalan and senior police officials.
The Minister told reporters that all requirements have been made for the jallikattu, the number of bulls increased to 1,000 this year, the ‘vadivasal’ changes made and the tokens were given to eligible bull tamers based on the feasibility.
