MADURAI: The tentative annual planner 2024 which was released by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) of Tamil Nadu State Government yesterday for filling up the posts of secondary grade teachers and assistant professors had received a few questions from temporary lecturers and other qualified staff who are now working in government colleges.
“For the past one decade, the vacancies mentioned by the TRB for recruiting permanent staff are not filled and is taken care of by the guest lecturers. The TRB recruited permanent staff in 2015 that was called for in the year 2013. After that, posts were not filled. Most of the guest lecturers are serving for more than 10 to 15 years…..They are receiving only less salary and not a salary as recommended by the UGC, without any benefits. The qualified guest lecturers are eagerly waiting for a permanent post all these long years and they expect weightage from Government side in this TRB recruitment process. Now, the annual planner has been released and the guest lecturers expect social justice for them from the TRB and State Government by taking into consideration the experience of guest lecturers and so given them weightage in the notification,” a press statement from Tamil Nadu All Government College UGC Qualified Guest Lecturers Association, has appealed today- on January 11th 2024.
