2 Syndicate members, 11 Senate members boycott TN Governor at MKU Convocation on Sankaraiah doctorate issue?

MADURAI: Two Syndicate members and 11 Senate members of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here had absented themselves and did not attend the MKU’s 55th annual convocation held here today- on November 2nd 2023- as a mark of their protest for the Tamil Nadu Governor’s refusal to give consent for awarding honorary doctorate to centenarian freedom fighter N.Sankaraiah.

Sources said that two Syndicate members- Dr.Pushparaj and Shanmugavel- and more than 10 Senate members had boycotted the MKU convocation function today since the Governor/ Chancellor had refused to sign the honorary doctorate papers for 100-years-old N. Sankaraiah whose name was recommended two times by the MKU Syndicate and Senate for conferring honorary doctorate in recognition of his services to the society and country.

The 55th annual convocation of MKU today- on November 2nd 2023- was also boycotted by MUFA- MUTA, TNGCTA etc, according to sources.
