MADURAI: The American College campus in Madurai became a health dissemination point today-on September 13th 2023- as hundreds of youngsters got a healthy message for good health through a special expo called ‘Eat Right Millet Mela’ which was organized by the Food Safety Department of Madurai district in association with the American College.
Stalls to highlight several millet varieties were put up in this millet event in the college campus which was held to mark the International Year of Millets-2023, that also had students taking part in the special ‘BIKETHON’ and Yoga session.
Madurai District Collector M.S.Sangeetha, Corporation Commissioner K.J.Praveen Kumar, Madurai North assembly constituency MLA Mr.Ko.Thalapathi and Madurai District’s Designated Officer for Food Safety Department Dr.V.Jeyaramapandian, were among those who had visited the millet stalls and motivated the youngsters for their millet participation.
Dr.M.Davamani Christober, Principal of American College and Mr.Shali Thalapathy, PRO of Madurai district administration, were among those who were present at the inauguration function and distribution of certificates.
