MKU COLLEGE NOT YET GIVEN CCTV FOOTAGE OF 5 CAMERAS IN MUTA PRESIDENT ATTACK CASE?

MADURAI: The three-member Syndicate enquiry committee of the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) which is probing into the sensational physical assault incident against MUTA president Prof. Dr. A.T.Senthamarai Kannan in the MKU College campus here by the same college faculty member at the Independence Day on August 15th 2023, is yet to receive the CCTV camera footage of five importantly located cameras, from the college authorities.

An enquiry committee has been formed by the MKU after taking a decision at its Syndicate meeting to probe into the alleged physical attack and assault incident by MKU College associate professor and vice-principal Prof.Dr.P.Kabilan on MUTA president associate professor Dr.A.T.Senthamarai Kannan in the college campus on 15th August 2023.

“The Syndicate sub-committee had submitted interim report last Wednesday to the Higher Education Secretary of Tamil Nadu Government about the assault probe conducted in MKU College campus. The Higher Education Secretary is the convener of this committee. The enquiry panel had 3 sittings and met 19 persons. Dr.Kabilan did not come to the time slot given by MKU Enquiry committee. There are three MKU Syndicate members in this committee- Dr.M.Davamani Christober, Prof.Pushparaj and Prof.Dr.Nagarathinam. Based up on the first stage of enquiry, the committee had given its interim report to MKU and Higher Education Secretary about what happened in MKU College campus on 15th August 2023. We have informed to the government that Dr.Kabilan, who is accused of attacking the MUTA president, did not come for MKU enquiry committee timing slot. The enquiry committee met 19 persons till now, three sittings were held about this MKU College incident where MUTA president was attacked and assaulted. We have asked the MKU College authorities to give us the August 15th 2023 CCTV footage of all the seven cameras in college campus. Only the CCTV footage of 2 cameras was given and university is waiting for five cameras CCTV footage, ” senior level MKU sources said today.
