MADURAI: Officials of the Madurai Corporation had today carried out an eviction drive to remove encroachments along the Vaigai south bank road (Vaigai Thenkarai) area.
On August 1st 2023, the corporation had removed encroachments in Ward 43 and Ward 49- Vaigai south bank road stretch in corporation zone-4 area, where the Madurai Corporation workers had evicted the timber/ wooden items put on the pathway because they are hindering the public pathway and causing inconvenience to the people going in that route.
A press release received from Madurai Corporation here today evening has informed that wooden doors, wooden windows etc were put on the public road and they have been removed in the eviction drive by corporation on August 1st 2023 and handed over to the corporation.
The mud blocks on both sides of Vaigai South Bank Road were also removed and the Vaigai Thenkarai road was set right through the removal of encroachments today morning. “If encroachments are there, the corporation will take action, seize the materials and fine will be imposed”, the Madurai Corporation had warned in the press release on August 1st 2023.
