MADURAI: The list of top ranking colleges in India declared in the India Rankings 2023 recently under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is giving some vital information for those who are keenly following higher education statistics.
“In the top 100 NIRF rankings list of colleges in India, there are 31 Christian colleges. If we take the top 150 list, another 13 are added and if we take the top 200 colleges another 12 are added. So, totally 56 colleges are Christian institutions that got into the top 200 NIRF rankings list. Christians are pioneers in education, we are providing value education, quality education and the latest rankings show that people’s confidence on Christian colleges is high,” Rev.Dr.Xavier Vedam SJ, general secretary, All India Association for Christian Higher Education (AIACHE), has said while speaking to ‘LotusTimes’ news website www.lotustimes.org in Madurai on July 21st 2023.
He was in Madurai to launch the ‘Holy’ health mix of American College’s Department of Food and Nutrition. “Christian colleges in India are very popular for higher education. There are many reputed colleges in India be it in Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai etc. We did it in co-education, higher education, quality education etc. People of this country knows the value of Christian run colleges,” Dr.Xavier Vedam had stressed.
