MADURAI: The 1998 batch students of Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE) in Madurai have donated Rs.35 lakhs to the TCE Alumni Charitable Trust for helping the poor students who need support for their education.
Silver jubilee reunion of 1994-98 batch alumni took place in TCE campus here on July 21st 2023 which was attended by more than 200 old students of that batch along with their family members. They were accorded a warn welcome by the TCE Alumni Association.
Dr.M.Palaninatharaja, Principal in-charge, TCE, received the cheque for Rs.35,01,998 from the 1998 batch alumni and complimented them for their service motto. “Former Chief Minister Kamaraj is known for his noon meal scheme for students. Like that, the 1994-98 batch students of TCE have been supporting the poor students for pursuing their education,” he said.
The 1998 batch alumni recalled their college days and cherished the memories. Retired professors and staff were honoured at the silver jubilee reunion celebration of 1998 batch of TCE in Madurai on July 21st 2023, according to a press release received from the college.
