MADURAI: The NSS unit of Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College in Madurai had organised legal awareness programe on July 17th 2023 to commemorate International Justice Day.
Senior advocate Mr.A.Raja from District Legal Services Authority-Madurai had addressed the students and staff about importance of legislation and crime from a common people perspective by covering important topics such as free legal aid services in Tamil Nadu, POCSO Act etc, according to a press release received from the college.
Another resource person Mr.K.Ganesh Moorthy, superintendent, District Legal Services Authority-Madurai, spoke about the functioning and work being done by legal service authorities in districts and how to access free legal aid. A pledge was taken by NSS volunteers and others to mark the International Justice Day.
Er.A.Rajagopal, college president, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Mr.M.Vijayaragavan, college secretary, Dr.A.Ramasubbiah, Principal and Director in-charge Mr.C.Prabhu, were among those present at the inaugural function. The legal awareness programme was organised on July 17th 2023 in Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College in Madurai by Mr.S.Silambarasan, NSS programme officer-assistant professor of social work.
