MADURAI: Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr.Ma.Subramanian had today laid the foundation stone for Integrated Centre for Excellence in Child Care which is being established in the Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) in Madurai.
The Minister had participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony in GRH on June 23rd 2023 for this proposed Integrated Centre for Excellence in Child Care which is going to take the paediatric medical facilities to a much higher level.
Mr.P.Moorthy, Minister for Commercial Taxes and Registration, Madurai District Collector M.S.Sangeetha, Corporation Mayor Indrani Ponvasanth, Madurai Corporation Commissioner K.J.Praveenkumar and GRH Dean Dr.A.Rathinavel were among those present at the foundation stone laying function held in the GRH premises here today morning, along with MLAs and health officials.
According to official sources, the Health Department of Government of Tamil Nadu and the GRH are taking several steps to introduce top class paediatric care health facilities and there are several plans to bring in more super specialities in child care for Madurai GRH.
“In coming days, our GRH will have more super specialities here itself and there will be all facilities for doing complex surgeries also. Once the integrated centre is ready, we will be having top class paediatric treatment facilities like the Institute of Child Health in Chennai,” Dr.S.Balasankar, Director, Institute of Child Health-GRH, has said.
