CHENNAI: The Vice-Chancellor of Telangana University was arrested in Hyderabad today by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) after he was caught red-handed for demanding and taking a bribe of Rs.50,000 from a college.
On June 17th 2023, the VC of Telangana University Prof.Ravinder Guptha was caught at his residence in Hyderabad while taking Rs.50,000 as bribe for allotting a private college as an examination centre. According to information available, the Vice-Chancellor had demanded Rs.50,000 to give permission to a college for being exam centre.
The ACB team police of Telangana State government caught him red-handed today morning- Saturday June 17th 2023 -and the next stage of police investigation is going on in Hyderabad and other places. All the documents, files and transactions of the university are being checked.
There are lot of allegations of irregularities and misappropriation of funds in Telangana University and the hence the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Telangana government had put a watch on this Vice-Chancellor Prof.Ravinder Guptha, and he was caught today morning while taking Rs.50,000 cash.
