MADURAI:The Madurai Railway Division of Southern Railway had a earned a revenue earning of Rs.197.88 crores in the first two months of current financial year, Mr.P.Ananth, Divisional Railway Manager of Madurai Division, has informed in Madurai on June 16th 2023.
A meeting of Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of Madurai Division was held in Madurai on 16th June 2023 and this was the 157th consultative meeting in this division. Ms.R.P.Rathi Priya, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and secretary of DRUCC, welcomed the committee members and branch officers.
Speaking at the meeting, the DRM Mr.P.Ananth has said that the consultative meetings help to improve the working of railway system and focus on more passenger amenities. “Railway administration is grateful to the members of consultative committee for giving valuable inputs. The Madurai Division is performing well in the current financial year. The revenue earning of Madurai Railway Division for the first two months of this financial year has touched Rs.197.88 crores, and it is 21 percentage higher than that of Rs.163.53 crores registered during the corresponding period last financial year. Freight loading is going up and fetching good revenue and Madurai Division maintained punctuality of 95 per cent in mail and express train operations,” the Divisional Railway Manager Mr.P.Ananth said at the consultative meeting.
