MADURAI: A mega job fair was conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here on 15th June 2023 under the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ initiative of Tamil Nadu State government through Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation.
Totally 2,692 students had registered for this job fair while 1,393 students attended the interview process done by various MSMEs and big companies. Finally, 388 candidates got selected and shortlisted by 24 companies in today’s mega job fair held at Department of Management Studies in MKU campus, according to a press release received from the university today evening. While 103 candidates were selected, another 285 candidates have been shortlisted.
Prof.Dr.J.Kumar, MKU Vice-Chancellor, had inaugurated the job fair while Mr.M.Singathevan, program manager of ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ programme, Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, spoke about the job fairs conducted in Madurai district and surrounding areas.
Dr.P.Kannadasan, Dean, College Development Council and Placement Officer of MKU, spoke about the Tamil Nadu government’s support for students’ employment and skill development. Dr.K.Ravichandran, professor and chairperson of School of Business Studies, Dr.J.Balasubramaniam, coordinator of ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme in MKU, Mr.R.Ramachandran, field coordinator of EDII Hub-MKU and Ms.Swetha, coordinator of mega job fair of Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, were among those present at the inaugural function of this job fair today morning- on June 15th 2023.
The companies that took part in job fair in MKU today include CIEL, TVS Rubber, TVS Mobility, Proodle, HDFC Life Insurance, Madurai Motilal Oswal etc.
