COMPENSATION TO STATES:
The ‘One Country One Market’ is ushering in an unified market from Kashmir to Kanyakumari because of the GST implementation.
“It has been made clear that loss of revenue to States will be compensated by the Central Government for five years. So there need not be any apprehensions in this regard for consumer States. And, for manufacturing States, the loss of revenue because of GST will be compensated for eight years,” the BJP senior leader had stressed.
He spoke at a meeting organised by Madurai North Indian Welfare Association in which a large number of Gujarat and Rajasthan traders took part.
Mr.Raja reassured the State governments that the 122nd Constitution Amendment said clearly about compensation to States (both manufacturing and consumer).
