MADURAI: Popular jewellery showroom chain in Tamil Nadu- JOS ALUKKAS- had today handed over important healthcare gadgets required for the staff working for Tamil Nadu State Government’s ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’ healthcare scheme that is aimed at taking basic essential healthcare services to the people’s doorsteps.
Representatives from Jos Alukkas had handed over some medical healthcare essentials to the Madurai Corporation here on May 12th 2023- under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative- at corporation headquarters building ‘Anna Maligai’ in Madurai, to Madurai Mayor Ms.Indrani Ponvasanth and Corporation Commissioner Mr.Simranjeet Singh.
The healthcare scheme called ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’ is a scheme launched by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin and it is being implemented in Madurai Corporation areas through 31 Urban Primary Health Centres in Madurai city that take care of 155 places for blood sugar test, diabetes test through women health volunteers, in Madurai city.
To step up this health care work, the Jos Alukkas has donated Rs.5.6 lakhs to the Madurai Corporation towards TN Chief Minister’s ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’ scheme for procuring 186 Blood Pressure (BP) testing machines, 186 blood sugar testing equipment and for buying 13,470 glucose strips, according to a press release received from the Madurai Corporation here today.
Dr.Vinodhkumar, City Health Officer of Madurai Corporation, Corporation PRO Mr.Maheswaran, ACHO Dr.Srigodhai and managers from Jos Alukkas Jewellery in Madurai, were among those present when the CSR fund was given by Jos Alukkas gold showroom to Madurai Corporation for healthcare equipment.
