CHENNAI: Carrying three important demands of Tamil Nadu people, the youngsters of Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Youth Wing attempted a massive march-rally in Chennai on August 7th 2017 (Monday) towards the Assembly -cum-Secretariat Fort S George by voicing the people’s demands and anger.
The rally began in a huge way at Chepauk and subsequently due to police reasons a team led by State BJP president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan met Chief Minister Mr.Edappadi K.Palaniswmai and placed before him the BJP demands.
The three demands with which this huge march was taken out are: 1.To conduct local body elections in the State in corporations / municipalities etc. immediately, 2. to bring in complete prohibition in Tamil Nadu to make it liquor-free State by reducing TASMAC shops and 3. to upgrade / improve the quality of education in all Government schools in Tamil Nadu.
This youth wing rally of the BJP Tamil Nadu Youth Wing was led by the party’s national youth wing president Ms.Poonam Mahajan while the senior leaders including BJP national general secretary Mr.P.Muralidhar Rao, national secretary Mr.H.Raja and Tamil Nadu BJP State president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan enthused the party’ youth from the starting point at Chepauk in Chennai.
TAMILISAI TEAM MEETS CM:
Dr.Tamilisai met the Chief Minister later and explained to him on the importance of issues raised by the BJP Tamil Nadu Youth Wing through this massive rally in the State capital. Thousands of BJP youth wing members turned up in large numbers from across the State.
“We told the Chief Minister Mr.Edappadi K.Planiswami on the need for opening more de-addiction centres to end the addiction to alcohol…..our demand to him was that the Tamil Nadu government should bring in prohibition atleast in a phased manner and close down the TASMAC liquor shops gradually,’ she told journalists in Chennai on August 7 th 2017.
A large number of BJP Youth Wing members from across Tamil Nadu went to Chennai to take part in this massive triumphant three-point agenda rally that took the attention of people and other political parties at large.
The BJP youth wing team which met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister along with State party president Dr.Tamilisai Soundararajan include Mr.Vinoj P Selvam, youth wing Tamil Nadu State president, Mr.Anoop Joseph, all-India youth wing national secretary in-charge for Tamil Nadu and Sate youth wing general secretaries Mr.C.M.Mari Chakkaravarthy and Mr.Vasantha Rajan.
