MADURAI: The rainfall recorded in Madurai district was 303.40 mm and average rainfall was 13.79 mm, according to the district’s rainfall report of April 24th 2023.
This information was based on rainfall information received from various places in the district. A press release received from the district collectorate here today had given details about the rainfall recorded in Madurai district and water level position in reservoirs as on April 24th 2023:
Viraganur 3mm, Madurai airport 7 mm, Mettupatti 28.60 mm, Tallakulam 37 mm, Sathiyar 13 mm, Kallandhiri 30.5 mm, Chittampatti 12.60 mm, Pulipatti 4.60 mm, Thirumangalam 18.40 mm, Madurai North 38.80 mm, Usilampatti 20.3 mm, Elumalai 29.20 mm, Vadipatti 17 mm, Periyapatti 32.4 mm and Andipatti 11 mm.
RESERVOIR POSITION:
The water level position in reservoir dam on 24th April 2023 was: Periyar dam 115.85 ft, storage 1880 Mcft, inflow 204 cs and discharge 100 cs. Vaigai dam: 53.94 ft, storage 2,550 Mcft, inflow 14 cs and discharge 72 cs.
