MADURAI: A meeting with officials from various Government departments was held at the Madurai District Collectorate here today morning- on April 24th 2023- to discuss the preparedness for Chithirai festival.
Tamil Nadu Minister for Finance and Human Resource Management Mr.P.T.R.Palanivel Thiaga Rajan and Minister for Commercial Taxes Mr.P.Moorthy attended the review meeting and took stock of the arrangements made for the famous Chtihirai festival. The flag hoisting ceremony for Chithirai festival took place at Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple here yesterday morning, and several important festivities are scheduled to take place in the next two weeks.
At today’s meeting, Minister PTR had discussed with officials and given suggestions for smooth conduct of the annual Chithirai festival.
Madurai District Collector Dr.S.Aneesh Sekhar, Madurai Corporation Mayor Ms.Indrani Ponvasanth, additional collector Mr.Saravanan, DRO Mr.Sakthivel and MLAs- Thalapathi, Pudur Bhoominathan and Venkatesan, along with Deputy Police Commissioner Mr.Sai Praneeth, Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple deputy commissioner Mr.Arunachalam, Alagarkoil temple deputy commissioner Mr.Ramasamy and officials from various departments including revenue and police had attended the meeting held at Madurai District Collectorate today- on April 24th 2023.
