CHENNAI: To commemorate its 30th year celebrations, service organization Chennai Food Bank is taking 1,008 underprivileged children from Chennai to Tirupati by a special chartered train on April 25th 2023 to provide them a darshan of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala. These children will be from various orphanages, destitute homes and the homes for mentally challenged.
This divine trip to Tirupati is being organized by Chennai Food Bank as an endeavour to provide a day of happiness to God’s own children and get divine blessings with bliss, according to a press release received from Rajasthan Youth Association Madras Metro Trust which was started in the year 1993 working for hunger free world through Chennai Food Bank for the past 30 years.
The special train will be flagged off by HR&CE Minister Mr.P.Sekar Babu ar Chennai Central Railway station at 6.15 an on April 25th 2023. Special invitees will be there to see off the children who are going in this train for divine trip. Among those who will be present include Mr.Y.V.Subba Reddy, chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Mr.A.J.Sekhar, TTD local advisory committee, along with film personality Karthi and members of RYA Madras Metro Trust including its managing trustee Mr.Nirmal Nahar, chairman Mr.Kapil Chordia, secretary Giresh Bhandari along with Kishan Jian and Navin Sethia – Apna Bana Lo.
FEEDING THE NEEDY:
The Chennai Food Bank, which is an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization, provides foodgrains and pulses to various institutions such as orphanages, old age homes, and homes for mednally challenged and differently abled persons besides animal welfare shelters in and around Chennai. The Chennai Food Bank has now reached a milestone of having distributed over 4 crore meals to underprivileged people in its last 30 years of service journey.
Collection of food grains is done through a network of like-minded generous individual donors and corporates. Now, to mark the celebration of 30 years, Chennai Food Bank is taking 1,008 children to Tirupati by a special train from Chennai on 25th April 2023.
