CHENNAI: A state-of-the-art daycare medical consultation facility- Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Medical Centre- was started at Brindavan Street in West Mambalam in Chennai today- on 21st April 2023, with working hours from 8 am to 4 pm in six days in a week.
The centre, which is a unit of Shri Rajasthani Jain Samaj Educational Trust, was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mr.Ma.Subramanian, in the presence of MLA J.Karunanithi and leading pharmaceutical industrialist Mr.Narendra Srisrimal.
This medical centre will help underprivileged people as healthcare will be available at a low cost. It has a tie-up with R&R Hospitals. The Bhagwan Mahaveer Jan Medical Centre will provide medical consultations by general physicians and specialist doctors like ortho, gynaec, diabetologist and nephrologist.
According to a press release received from the centre today, the general physician will be available on all days and specialists doctors’ consultation is available once a week on appointment basis. Diagnostic services are also available at affordable rate. The centre will conduct free eye screening camp on every Tuesday and also facilitate multi-speciality health camps every month, besides regular health checkups for students, their families and faculty of Shri BS Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School and to general public.
This medical centre which was opened at West Mambalam today will cater to the people in adjoining areas of T.Nagar, Ashok Nagar and Saidapet. Consultation fee is Rs.30 for general medicine consultation and Rs.50 for specialist medical consultation.
Shri Rajasthani Jain Samaj Educational Trust is an association of all Rajasthani Jain members with a mission to help socially and economically deserving sections, functioning since 1967. In the year 1970, the Trust established a school and thus a CBSE-affiliated Shri B S Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School was started with a nominal fees, the press release added. The school now has a strength of 3,000 plus girl students.
