MADURAI: Lok Sabha MP Ms.Kanimozhi Karunanidhi will inaugurate the American College Museum in Madurai tomorrow, on April 19th 2023.
A museum with collection of some rare objects and historical significance was set up in the college campus, thanks to the efforts taken by college Principal and Secretary Dr.M.Davamani Christober and staff. This museum will be formally inaugurated and dedicated by Ms.Kanimozhi tomorrow evening.
College authorities said that steps were taken to establish a museum in the college campus because American College has a very good collection of important rare objects of public interest. American College also discovered a bunker that was built during the British period at the time of First World War, in the James Hall building in the campus. The college was started in the year 1881.
Ms.Kanimozhi Karunanidhi will dedicate the museum tomorrow and also attend the 142nd College Day celebrations of American College, where she will deliver the college day address. Mr.R.Shunmugasundaram, Advocate General, Tamil Nadu and Rt.Rev.Dr.D.Jeyasingh Prince Prabhakaran, Bishop and college president, will be among those who are taking part in the college day celebrations of the prestigious American College in Madurai on 19th April 2023.
