‘LiFE’ comes with full of life at LDC learning show

MADURAI: The Centre for Life Frontier Engagement at Lady Doak College in Madurai had organized ‘LiFE Open House’ on 31st March 2023 as a part of three-day integrated service learning workshop on participatory learning and evaluation, in association with United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA).

This event creates opportunities for faculty members and students to learn in partnership with the community and develop competencies that promote the advancement of socially responsible citizens. Final year undergraduate students of humanities and science disciplines exhibited their ‘LiFE’ activities, research process and reflections in a creative manner in their respective booths allotted to them in G.J.Auditorium in the college, according to a press release here today.

Faculty teams from Christ (Deemed to be University) in Bengaluru, Scottish Church College in Kolkata, Maris Stella College in Vijayawada, Women’s Christian College in Chennai and Bishop Heber College in Tiruchi had visited the display booths at LDC here.

Dr.R.Beulah Jeyashree, vice-principal and associate professor of English, delivered the inaugural address and spoke on the significance of ‘LiFE @Lady Doak College’ and the open house. Dr.Vanitha Malarvizhi, college Bursar and associate professor of commerce, Dr.Chitra, Dean of Student Affairs and Dr.Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi, chaplain and associate professor of English, were among those who attended the programme.

Dr.Christianna Singh, Principal and Secretary of LDC, Dr.Mercy Pushpalatha, former Principal, Mr.Lentson Amos, consultant-assistant director of South Asia programs-UBCHEA, Chennai, Mrs.Pray Eucham program associate at UBCHEA Chennai consultancy office, visited the display stalls. This programme was coordinated by LiFE centre coordinators Dr.G.Jayanthi Kalaivani and Dr.T.Durga Devi, the press release said.
