MISSING KALAM & AMMA: FEELINGS OF VENKAIAH

RAMESWARAM: The Vice-President nominee of NDA and former Union Minister Mr.M.Venkaiah Naidu has expressed sadness over the passing away of two great personalities – Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam and Ms.Jayalalithaa.
 
“Today, we are missing Dr.Kalam and Amma…In the last two years, we lost these two persons. Dr.Kalam is a great son of this country and he is a great soul,” Mr.Naidu said while speaking at the inauguration of national memorial of the former President of India at Rameswaram (Peikarumbu) in Tamil Nadu on July 27th 2017.
 
About the former Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa, he said that God has been unkind to her by taking her away from us. “How nice it would have been if she is with us today at the inauguration Dr.Kalam’s memorial. We are missing Amma,” he added with a tinge of sadness.
 
The national memorial of Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam was inaugurated and opened to the people after the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) completed the construction with utmost commitment by engaging a huge workforce and experts from various places.
 
“As Union Minister for Urban Development, myself and another cabinet colleague Manohar Parikkar (former Defence Minister) used to discuss with Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalithaa about the memorial. Today is a solemn occasion, pious moments and a day to be remembered,” Mr.Venkaiah Naidu said.
 
IGNITED AND INSPIRED: 
 
Stating that Dr.Kalam will always be remembered by this country and its peopl for his significant contributions, Mr.Naidu reiterated that it was Dr.Kalam who ignited, inspired and influenced the minds of our country’s youth. “We could not see Mahatma Gandhi, but we had the fortune to see Kalam era,” he added.
 
Mr.Naidu told the people that Prime Minister Mr.Modi used to enquire always about the work progress in Kalam memorial construction.
 
On July 27th 2017 (Thursday), the Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi declared open the national memorial in the presence of Tamil Nadu Governor in-charge Mr.Ch.Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Mr.Edappadi Palaniswami, Union Ministers Mr.Pon.Radhakrishnan and Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman, BJP national secretary Mr.H.Raja and others.
