TN State Education Policy recommendations will be submitted to Govt in August 2023, says Justice Murugesan

MADURAI: The committee headed by Justice Murugesan to formulate a unique separate education policy for Tamil Nadu will submit its comprehensive report in August 2023. A special panel of experts and academicians was constituted by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin in April 2022 to make policy recommendations in order to come out with a ‘Tamil Nadu State Education Policy’ and this panel was given one year time to give its report of recommendations.

Justice D.Murugesan, former Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, who is the Chairman of this committee, told reporters in Madurai today- on March 15th 2023- that the panel will submit its recommendations as a comprehensive report to the Tamil Nadu State government by August 2023.

“There is another two months left for us to take public opinion and feedback from various stakeholders across the State. This work will be over by end of May this year and after that another months we will take to prepare a comprehensive document of our panel’s recommendations. This committee was given clear Terms of Reference to look into the requirements of school students and what interventions are needed to make the school education system and a school education policy that will be effective for our students. We are taking feedback and opinions for this purpose,” Justice D.Murugesan has said in Madurai today.

Justice Murugesan had visited Queen Mira International School (QMIS) at Kochadai in Madurai on March 15th 2023. He had an interaction with staff, students and the management. Among those were present in this interaction session include school chairman Dr.C.Chandran, school managing director Mr.Abinath Chandran, academic director Ms.Sujatha Guptan and others.
