MADURAI: The Southern Railway General Manager Mr.R.N.Singh had a meeting today in Madurai with the MPs (Member of Parliament) who are representing the constituencies that come under the Southern Railway Madurai Division. In this meeting held here on March 10th 2023, the details of various railway projects were apprised to the MPs and about the various passenger amenities taken up in railway stations in Madurai Division.
A press release received from the Southern Railway Madurai Division office here today has said that the General Manager of Southern Railway Mr.R.N.Singh had apprised the MPs about various achievements of Southern Railway and on the progress of passenger amenities in railway stations coming under the Madurai Division. Mr.P.Ananth, Divisional Railway Manager of Madurai Division, was present in this important meeting where the MPs were briefed and explained about the railway works in Madurai Division.
The Members of Parliament (MPs) who attended the meeting include Mr.Su.Venkatesan (Madurai Lok Sabha Constituency), Mr.Manickam Tagore (Virudhunagar), Mr.P.Raveendranath (Theni Lok Sabha MP), Mr.Karti P.Chidambaram (Sivaganga LS constituency), Mr.Su.Thirunavukkarasar (Tiruchi), Mr.P.Velusamy (Dindigul MP), Mr.K.Shanmugasundaram (Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency), Mr.Dhanush M.Kumar (Tenkasi MP) and Mr.Vaiko (Rajya Sabha MP).
The major infrastructure development works that were completed in Madurai Division recently were highlighted, and about the details of railway station redevelopment works taken up at five stations and also about the development of 15 railway stations in Madurai Division under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme Phase 1’.
According to the press release, the MPs had discussed about various aspects related to train services, train stoppages, passenger facilities and expediting ongoing railway projects, and they ave suggestions for improvement of railway services in Madurai Division.
