What Madurai Wants? CM Stalin’s field visit in Madurai brings needs of 5 districts into focus

MADURAI: An important review meeting chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin today at the district collectorate in Madurai had brought into focus issues that are most important for the development of Madurai region and southern districts. Representatives from trade and industry associations, farmers welfare associations and others had made their points at the review cum interaction meeting with all officials held in Madurai on March 5th 2023- Sunday- that was meant for 5 southern districts covering Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Dindigul, Sivaganga and Theni districts.

A press release received here from the State government and information department officials has said that Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin had conducted an intensive meeting in Madurai to take stock of the development and needs of 5 districts which was attended by top officials from these districts and was reviewed by Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Mr.IraiAnbu.

“The Chief Minister Mr.Stalin has been visiting various districts and regions in Tamil Nadu to review the implementation of welfare schemes and development projects. Such a meeting was held in Madurai on 5th March 2023 in the Madurai District Collectorate. Representatives from Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, MADITSSIA, farmers association, fishermen association and others have made a representation to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin at the review meeting in Madurai today.

TRADE AND INDUSTRY REPRESENTATION TO CM STALIN:

At the ‘CM on Field Visit’ review meeting conducted in Madurai on 5th March 2023, representatives of various trade and industry bodies have made their plea for speeding up the infrastructure development projects that are underway in southern districts, especially in Madurai district.

The associations of trade and industry have thanked and appreciated the Chief Minister’s efforts to strengthen the Tamil Nadu’s State economy to One trillion American dollars and the steps being taken with a special attention for industrial development of southern districts in the State.

“We want the Tamil Nadu State Government and our Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin to expedite the projects and works related to speed up proposed Madurai Sakkimangalam SIDCO Industrial Estate setting up, the Madurai airport runway expansion works and establish Madurai Busport besides setting up of NIFER in Madurai,” said Mr.N.Jegatheesan, president of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in his representation to Chief Minister Mr.Stalin at today’s field visit cum review meeting in Madurai district collectorate- March 5th 2023.

Office-bearers of Dindigul traders association have made an appeal to make Sirumalai as a tourist spot while MADITSSIA team from Madurai have made their appeals to Chief Minister Mr.Stalin to consider their requests.
