MADURAI: The Directorate of Public Health and Preventive Medicine of Government of Tamil Nadu is conducting an important regional workshop in Madurai on February 23rd 2023 to review the eliminating, strengthening and performance of vaccination under MEASLES RUBELLA coverage in health districts under Madurai region.
Health Department sources in Chennai told ‘LotusTimes’ today that the regional workshop for MR-MEASLES RUBELLA- elimination strengthening and performance review of districts will be held in Madurai on 23rd February 2023. The review meeting in Madurai will cover Sivaganga, Ramnad, Paramakudi, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Kovilpatti, Madurai and Theni.
“All the Deputy Directors of Health Services have been informed to hold a review meeting of Measles cases-fever-rash and elimination of MR by December 2023. The MEASLES RUBELLA vaccination coverage in Tamil Nadu is being reviewed. Immunisation vaccination surveillance will be discussed in this meeting in Madurai and this workshop is to improve strategies for MR elimination-Measles and Rueblla. All the block level and Primary Health Centre level details must be given at this meeting in Madurai. Urban Health Centres staff and second level officers should attend the workshop meeting. Similar workshops cum review meetings are being conducted at Poonamallee in Chennai on 21st February 2023,, and in Madurai on 23rd February and at Villupuram on 25th February and at Salem on March 2nd thereby covering all districts and regions in Tamil Nadu,” sources in Directorate of Public Health-Chennai, told ‘LotusTimes’ media website www.lotustimes.org today.
