MADURAI: Chef Mr.M.S.Rajmohan from Tamil Nadu has received national award at the ninth international chefs conference held at The Ashok Hotel in Delhi from February 11th to 13th 2023. He got this award under the category of ‘Best Culinary Educator’ from the Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA) and he is presently Director of Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science at G.T.N.Arts College in Dindigul.
“This award was presented to chef M.S.Rajmohan for his dedication and hard work as culinary educator and in culinary field academics, for being a source of inspiration for young chefs. He has been carrying foward the IFCA mission and the World Association of Chefs’ Societies (WACS) ceaselessly for a decade,” a press release received here on February 15th 2023 has informed.
The Indian Federation of Culinary Associations is a national association of professional chefs in the country is the nodal body of culinary professionals in India. The International Chefs Conference in Delhi was hosted by IFCA to help Indian chefs widen their culinary knowledge and draw inspiration from some of the globally renowned chefs. IFCA develops culinary profession and showcases Indian cuisine on a global platform besides promoting culinary knowledge and bring obscure culinary styles and culinary practices to the forefront.
“Celebrating millets was the theme of this three-day international conference which was supported by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The event was inaugurated by Minister of State Mr.Kailash Choudhary. There were several workshops, live cooking demonstration, panel discussion and indulgence etc. It helped the chefs to update their knowledge and know global trends in culinary space. Corporate executive chefs, F&B managers, food entrepreneurs and culinary academicians were among those who attended the conference in Delhi from 11th to 13th February 2023,” the press release said.
BEST CULINARY EDUCATOR:
The conference’s national awards ceremony took place on the final day of IFCA’s 9th international chefs conference. Chef Mr.M.S.Rajmohan from south India received the award ‘Best Culinary Educator’ from IFCA. He is hotel management alumnus of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, did his Ph.D in food culture and heritage of Madurai, and is presently Director of Department of Hotel Management and Catering Science at G.T.N.Arts College in Dindigul.
