MADURAI TEMPLES: TN HR&CE Minister inspects Meenakshi Temple, Alagarkoil temple and sub temples

MADURAI: Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Mr.P.K.Sekarbabu, had today- on December 11th 2022 Sunday- visited a few important temples in Madurai and inspected the ongoing works for consecration ceremony that is going to take place soon. Accompanied by Minister Mr.P.Moorthy here in Madurai and Madurai District Collector Dr.S.Aneesh Sekhar and others, the HR&CE Minister went to the famous Alagarkoil Temple Arulmigu Rakkayi Amman temple near Madurai and at the Solaimalai Arulmigu Murugan temple where silver doors are coming up for the temple. He went to Perungudi Chinna Udaippu village also where temple sculpture works are going on.

A press release received from the Madurai district administration here today has informed that these two temples in Madurai- the Lord Kallazhagar Temple’s sub temple Arulmigu Rakkayi temple consecration ceremony took place in a devout manner in the presence of a large number of devotees on 11th December 2022.

“We are taking several steps in the year 2022-23 for the puja, repair and renovation of temples in Tamil Nadu through our HR&CE Department. At a cost of Rs.500 crores, the department is covering 1,000 temples in Tamil Nadu. Renovation painting works are going on in Kallagar Temple and sub temples,” Minister Mr.Sekarbabu has said.

At the famous Murugan temple, works done at a cost of Rs.2 crores in Vinayaga, Murugan and Vel sannidhanam, where new wooden doors and 250 kilos silver covering doors were provided, the press release added.

Senior HR&CE Department officials Mr.Kannan IAS, Lord Kallazhagar Temple Joint Commissioner Mr.M.Ramasamy and Solamalai Murugan Temple Executive Officer were among those present during the HR&CE Minister’s visit and inspection of temples in Madurai district today- on 11th December 2022.
