CHENNAI: A premier institution in maritime studies in India which is floating with success- AMET University in Chennai- has today signed and exchanged a high impact MoU with Tamil Nadu Smart and Advanced Manufacturing (TANSAM) at the TIDCO’s Conclave on Industry 4.0 held in Chennai on November 8th 2022 which was attended and being spearheaded by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin.
The Tamil Nadu Government is taking several new industrial policy initiatives for manufacturing, industrial and service sectors growth in the State for which TANSAM and Tamil Nadu Advanced Manufacturing Centre of Excellence are going to play a key role in the industrial development policy of Chief Minister Mr.Stalin’s government that has unveiled special robust policy measures for aerospace, defence etc through TIDCO.
AMET University Vice-Chancellor Col.Dr.G.Thiruvasagam had exchanged the MoU documents with TIDCO at the Conclave on Industry 4.0 in Chennai today. (AMET is Academy of Maritime Education and Training is situated on ECR in Chennai in 1993 and elevated as a Deemed to be University during 2007).
“Our AMET University’s Memorandum of Understanding with with TANSAM will be a very good collaboration because a global company like Siemens India is a lead player in this initiative. This focus will be on taking advantage of TIDCO’s Centre of Excellence for state-of-the-art approaches of industry that will benefit our university’s 4,000 students because now the Tamil Nadu State government is proactively implementing an industrial policy for our future factories and students through innovation and entrepreneurship ideas in industry- manufacturing and service sectors. We will fully make use of the facilities created by the Tamil Nadu government through TIDCO in the form of Tamil Nadu Smart and Advanced Manufacturing Centre in Egmore in Chennai. A good move for the students of our AMET University in coming days,” Dr.Thiruvasagam told ‘LotusTimes’ news website www.lotustimes.org after attending the TIDCO Centre of Excellence’s conclave on industry 4.0 held in Chennai on 8th November 2022.
The AMET Vice-Chancellor Dr.Thiruvasagam also said that colleges and universities will benefit a lot because of TANSAM’s steps since it supports adoption of smart and advanced manufacturing technology among students and faculty with a cutting edge partnership MoU.
