(VIDEO) Madurai Meenakshi Temple ‘hundis’ counted; Rs.1.2 crores cash and 540gms gold

MADURAI: The counting of offerings made by devotees in the ‘Hundis’ of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai was done here yesterday- on 31st October 2022. Temple hundis were opened in the presence of Meenakshi Temple Executive Officer and Deputy Commissioner Mr.A.Arunachalam.

Hundi collection of Meenakshi Temple and its 11 satellite temples was counted by senior temple officials including Mr.Pon Swaminathan, supervisors, HR&CE Department staff, temple employees and bank staff, according to a press release received from the temple yesterday. The ‘hundi’ collection was Rs.1,20, 97,991 in cash and 540 grams gold besides 3,280 grams of silver and 323 foreign currency notes.

The offerings made by devotees in the form of cash, gold and silver was counted by opening the hundis of Meenakshi Temple and its 11 satellite temples on 31st October 2022.
