MKU Faculty Association new office-bearers elected; Prof.Velankanni Joseph is MUFA president

MADURAI: The new office-bearers of Madurai Kamaraj University Faculty Association (MUFA) were elected here on Thursday- 20th October 2022. Prof.Velankanni Joseph, Head of the Department of Youth Welfare, MKU, was elected as president. His panel had bagged all the posts in the association’s 13 Executive Committee posts.

The MUFA president-elect Prof.Velankanni had assured that MUFA will work in tandem with the university authorities to ensure smooth functioning of the university, according to a press release received from the association here today. This newly elected team represents different Schools/ Departments of the university from both regular and distance education and hence it would be easy and effective for future course of action, Prof.Velankanni added.

The election took place here on Thursday in which Prof.Velankanni Joseph and Dr.U.Karuppathevan had contested for the post of MUFA president, along with 14 candidates contesting for 13 Executive Committee posts.

Vice president Dr.B.Padma, general secretary Dr.S.Pushparaj, joint secretary Dr.V.Emayavaramban, treasurer Dr.P.Rajkumar and joint treasurer Dr.Annaraj were elected unopposed. While vice president Dr.B.Padma stated that innovative measures will be explored in consultation with the stakeholders to regain the glory of university, association’s new secretary Dr.Pushparaj has said that all matters of importance will be effectively represented to the university administration.
