MADURAI: Mr.S.Rethinavelu, a senior voice who has been airing the grievances of trade and industry in Tamil Nadu for the past over three decades, has made an appeal to the Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman and to the GST Council, from Madurai today- on September 8th 2022. (The GST Council meeting is to be held in Madurai during the last week of this month).
“Unless you meet the traders and industry representatives in person, how can you know our difficulties? Please sit with traders and then we can tell about GST problems. GST is a TAX TERRORISM. Just giving a memorandum to your officers and GST implementation officials is of no use. Please meet us and discuss with us, so that we traders and businessmen can tell (Mrs.Nirmala Sitaraman) you about our GST issues and problems. We hope and wish that the GST Council meeting to be held in Madurai in September 2022 should be meaningful for our entire country by resolving the practical difficulties and grievances,” Mr.S.Rethinavelu, president of Agrofood Chamber of Commerce, told ‘LotusTimes’ www.lotustimes.org– in Madurai today.
He had urged the GST Council to simplify the tax rates, alleviate the difficulties of GST payers and also try to bring DEMOCRATIC FEDERALISM in GST Council, because there is no direct representation for trade and industry representatives in GST Council presently, and only the Ministers of various States are there in that GST Council.
