Madurai Meenakshi Temple to have rooms accommodation facility for pilgrims; CM lays foundation for Rs.35 crores project coming up at Ellis Nagar

MADURAI: Thanks to the HR&CE Department of Government of Tamil Nadu, the famous Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai is soon getting room stay and accommodation facilities at low room rent for pilgrims who are visiting Madurai for darshan of Goddess Meenakshi because everyday there are several devotees who are coming to Madurai from from outside of India, from other States in India and from various places in Tamil Nadu. This room accommodation facility is coming up for pilgrims’ stay here and Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin has commenced the construction works for this facility on August 29th 2022.

For the pilgrims’ stay in Madurai, more facilities for are being created by constructing more rooms to accommodate them. Just at a distance of 1.5 km, in Ellis Nagar in Madurai which is closer to the Meenakshi Temple, a four storeyed building is being constructed at a cost of Rs.35 crores in ground plus four building coming up in one lakh square feet. Near this proposed room stay accommodation site, there is a vehicle parking facility now there in two-acres area.

A press release received here today- on August 29th 2022, had informed that everything is ready for commencing the construction work as contractors have been chosen for this project. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin had laid the foundation stone through video-conferencing from Chennai secretariat while it was attended live in Madurai by Madurai district Collector Dr.Aneesh Sekhar, Madurai MP Mr.Su.Venkatesan and officials from HR&CE Department-Madurai, Corporation and others.
