MADURAI: The dwindling financial condition of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai and its deep financial crisis is once again getting proved because the MKU staff, all its employees, regular workers etc are waiting for July month salary, and on 3rd August 2022 they are hopeful that their monthly salary will be given to them atleast before the Independence Day on August 15th, the university sources told ‘Lotustimes’ news website at 3.15 pm on 3rd August 2022.
“Normally, the salary will be credited to our account on the last working day of the month……if there are holidays. then it will be credited one day before or after that. But, today is August 3rd 2022 and at 3.15 pm, I can say that we are now facing problem in getting our monthly salary because there are no funds from the Central or State governments, and there is no bank corpus fund for our university now. So, our salary is becoming a question mark now. What about pensioners and contract workers who are depending on their monthly income on this date? We are appealing to the Tamil Nadu Government and Central government to give financial focus for Madurai Kamaraj University…….,”,” said several senior level employees of MKU in Madurai on 3rd August 2022 Wednesday at 3.30 pm.
A senior member of a university faculty association has said today that the MKU staff are eagerly waiting for a bank message to their mobile phones for salary credit. “Save this great university MKU and we appeal to both State and Central governments to look into the financial crisis of our university and help in atleast getting our monthly salary,” a teaching faculty staff has appealed to CM Mr.Stalin and to the Modi government on 3rd August 2022.
