MADURAI: The railway station at the famous pilgrim town of India- that is Rameswaram- in Tamil Nadu is getting upgraded with new facilities and infrastructure at a project cost of Rs.120 crores and this project will be completed in a period of 18 months, according to a press release received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway here today. This station redevelopment work foundation stone laying is a part of Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi’s programme to be held from Chennai on 26th May 2022 at 5.45 pm.
Rameswaram Temple is very famous in India. So, the railway station at Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu is being upgraded with amenities in station and platforms- for nothside terminal building, arrival and departure forecourt for train passengers, pedestrian forecourt, platforms upgradation and extension of platforms 3,4 and 5, parcel office, officers rest house, RPF block, substation building, all utilities, FOB connecting platforms with lifts and escalators etc.
