MADURAI: An appeal has been made to the Syndicate of Madurai Kamaraj University to make an amendment to the MKU statute to appoint a qualified person as Vice Chancellor from the arts and science universities only. This issue was raised at the Academic Council meeting of MKU held in Madurai on 17th March 2022. Dr.A.Velanganni Joseph. Academic Council member, said that professors from technical universities should not be appointed as Vice Chancellor of MKU because he or she from a technical university will not be able to administer an arts and science university. He urged the MKU authorities and Syndicate to amend the MKU Statute to appoint qualified professor from arts and science universities as Vice Chancellor of MKU.
