MADURAI: The Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA) has urged for more allocation for funds in the Tamil Nadu budget 2022-23 to create good infrastructure facilities that would give a big push for industrial development in southern districts in the State.
An interaction meeting for pre-budget consultation on the coming Tamil Nadu budget for year 2022-23 was held at the secretariat in Chennai which was attended by representatives of various industry bodies and in this meeting. MADITSSIA president from Madurai Mr.M.S.Sampath has made a representation making several demands and reliefs for developing trade and industry in southern districts in a big way, according to a press release received here on 21st February 2022.
ALLOT 15 PER CENT LAND:
One of the important demands made by MADITSSIA today to the Tamil Nadu government is to earmark / reserve/allot 15 per cent land area in the proposed Madurai Master Plan specially for tiny and small industries and announce it as land allotted for industries. “There is a need to make more funds allocation to increase basic amenities and infrastructure needed for encouraging more industries in Madurai. 4 MORE INDUSTRIAL ESTATES:
The MADITSSIA has made a strong plea to the Tamil Nadu State government to announce setting up of four more industrial estates in Madurai to enable establishing new industries. Mr.Sampath has asked for 90 per cent subsidy from the government to develop infrastructure in industrial estates.
MADURAI METRO:
Asking for allotting fund to carry out detailed study for Madurai Metro rail project, the MADITSSIA also demanded that the Tamil Nadu budget 2022-23 should allocate funds for Madurai-Thoothukudi industrial corridor which was announced long back. The MADITSSIA president Mr.Sampath also made several other demands in his representation for the upcoming Tamil Nadu budget.
