Tiruchi-Karaikudi electrified route inspection done by Commissioner of Railway Safety

MADURAI: Electrification work done on the Tiruchi-Karaikudi stretch was inspected today -on 17th February 2022- by Mr.Abhai Kumar Rai, Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS)-Southern Circle, Bangalore. The 89kms electrification work of Tiruchi-Karaikudi route was completed and a statutory inspection was done by the CRS who was accompanied by senior railway officials.

The inspection train started at 9.15 am today from Tiruchi. Mr.Abhai Kumar Rai first inspected the Tiruchi-Kumaramangalam Pudur-Ayyampatti railway gate and the safety precautions in place at the Kumaramangalam railway station. Safety arrangements made in railway stations in the electrified route, level crossing gates, Road Over Bridges, TNEB electrical power line crossing and electrical substations enroute were among the points covered during this statutory inspection.

Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Mr.M.Rajamurugan, Chief Project Director (electrification) Mr.Sameer Dighe and Divisional Railway Manager of Madurai Railway Division Mr.Padmanabhan Ananth, were among the senior officials who accompanied the CRS. The inspection covered the Tiruchi-Karaikudi electrified rail route and speed trial was also part of this inspection.
