MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the State government to establish large and big industries in southern districts of Tamil Nadu in order to bring a balanced industrial growth in the State.
Dr.N.Jegatheesan, president, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has made this appeal through a press statement issued from Madurai on 5th July 2021, in which he had pointed out that “there are no major industries in the southern districts. If there is a large industry in the area, more than 200 ancillary small and medium enterprises will be formed to manufacture and supply necessary components, thereby creating job opportunities directly and indirectly.”
MADURAI NEEDS BIG INDUSTRIAL ESTATE:
The TN Chamber president Dr.N.Jegatheesan has also appealed to the Tamil Nadu government to set up a big industrial estate in Madurai. “Various industrial estates have already been situated in Hosur, Coimbatore and Chennai. So, if a big industrial estate comes to Madurai, it will boost industrial growth in all southern districts of our State. It will create a balanced economic growth,” he observed.
Dr.Jegatheesan has hailed the State government’s announcements to achieve industrial growth, fast paced Special Economic Zone at Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district and the efforts of Industries Minister Mr.Thangam Thennarasu under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin.”The potential industries in South Tamil Nadu are service sector, logistics, water resources, sfotware-electronics, food processing, leather goods manufacturing etc. South Tamil Nadu possesses the needed infrastructure for industries- raw materials, manpower and logistics,” the TN Chamber president has pointed out in his important press statement here on 5th July 2021.
