MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association has today submitted a brief memorandum to the Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman in Madurai on 19th February 2021, explaining their requests about GST, Food Safety and Standards Act etc. Mr.S.P.Jeyapragasam, president, Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association and Mr.S.V.S.S.Vel Shankar, association secretary, led a team to submit their representation to the Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman who came to Madurai today- on 19th February 2021. The association has asked her to soon convene a meeting in Delhi to hear the GST grievances. Also, there was a plea to hold a meeting to discuss the woes with regard to Food Safety and Standards Act implementation, faced by merchants / traders.
